Eric Schlosser's text fast food nation, tells the motivating story of how fast food chins such as, Carls Junior, McDonalds, Burger king and Taco Bell. I must agree that many americans of todays society have been ignorant to the fact that there is more to the food we put in our mouths than we think. For example Carl Karcher, the creator of Carls Jr., began his journey by gathering money to buy a single hot dog stand. The logo that he used to propel his buisness is the same logo that we see on Carls Jr. restaurants today-a golden star that once held fries and a drink-.
As I read through the text i noticed that every improvement that was made in fast food restaurants came as a result of laziness. The introduction of the car being used as a means for transportation sparked another flame. Providing drive in restaurants, kept people from the inconvenience of leaving their cars. Instead Car hops took their orders and brought food to customers. Advertizing is a factor that has realy kept fast food buisnesses moving. "He drove to E street. in San Bernadino and saw the shape of things to come. Dozebs of people were standing in line to buy bags of "McDonalds Famous Hamburgers."" The man driving was in fact Carl himself the owner of Carls Jr. who strived for better buisness. These events have allowed us to enjoy "Six Dollar Burgers" today.
